PC GIF Brushes

These brushes were converted from a variety of sources. The palette may not match your workbench, so don't be too disappointed when Multiview displays them. To get a better idea of what the images really look like, increase the number of colors to 32 or 64.

If these brushes are slow to appear in your browser, try Voyager. It displays local images much faster than AMosaic or Aweb. This archive was collected, converted and assembled with the following tools on my Amiga 1200:
  1. Personal Paint
  2. Image Studio
  3. ShapeShifter
  4. unzip
  5. Windows Icon Datatype
  6. ALynx
  7. AmiFTP
  8. AWeb
  9. Voyager
  10. KarmaBar
  11. Blacks Editor
  12. SID2
My thanks go out to the authors of these powerful and useful programs. Thanks also go to the artists who designed the images that make up this collection. No thanks at all go to Commodore or Escom. I chose to distribute these images in GIF format for two reasons: They are half the filesize of an .IFF, and they are immediately available for use in a web page. I used the images as source artwork for an upcoming project called KarmaBar, by Chris Naas.

Would anyone like to write a datatype for OS2 icons? I can provide hundreds of them.

In the course of assembling this archive, I needed a program that automatically scanned directories and created HTML index files of the contents. Since nothing like that exists for the Amiga, I wrote it. I found the little program quite useful, so I packaged it and uploaded to AmiNet as /text/hyper/autoindex.lha. Simply put, it's a MUI GUI front end for an ARexx script. The ARexx script scans selected directories and assembles an index.html for each. For an example, look in any of the directories in this archive for a *.html file.

Web Browsers make a fine tool for viewing thousands of images.
